Travel tips for Amsterdam
We’re back from our brief trip to Amsterdam. Four blissful days biking around the canals with no phones or email.
Here are some travel tips (in no particular order) in case you’re headed that way for a long weekend:
- Settle in for breakfast at Bagels & Beans (bring your newspapers)
- Bike the canals (Herengracht, Keisersgracht, Prinsengracht) and side streets, night and day
- Take in the stunning Vermeers & Rembrandts at Rijksmuseum
- Visit Abraham Kef for a cheese plate and some tasty wine (this might be the best cheese shop in Europe)
- Hit De Bakkers Winkel (we love that name) for b’fast or lunch, grabbing a chocolate chip brioche to go
- Visit the cafe on top of the temporary Stedelijk Museum SMCS (late afternoon is best)
- Have a beer or two at Finch bar and goggle some pretty locals
- Wolf down a club sandwich at the College Hotel, or The Dylan
- Sip a mint tea/Reisling at the Lloyd Hotel and walk the KNSM-Eiland loop
- Stop by the Frozen Fountain design store (skip Droog)
